Columbus Italian Festival: Friday, October 9, 2015, 5pm-7:30pm, ATC trio w/special guest pianist Caleb Hutslar

Join us for HAPPY HOURs this FRIDAY, 5pm-7:30pm at the Columbus Italian Festival and kick off Columbus Day weekend with Anna & the Consequences at the CD102.5 Contemporary Stage on North Fourth Street next to Cafe del Mondo! Anna & the Consequences features vocalist Anna Paolucci with elegant and sassy, vintage torch blues & jazz,  and the Consequences of Dan Sagraves on acoustic bass and Rick Soriano on keyboards & drums. But that’s not all, this year the group’s featured guest musician is the wonderfully talented jazz pianist and Kenyon College instructor, Caleb Hutslar!

Caleb_2015sCaleb Hutslar, a native of Worthington, was born to a musical family. His father was an oboist and his mother plays recorder and crumhorn in an early music group. Caleb began classical piano lessons as a child, and added jazz to his repertoire in high school. An OSU grad, Caleb studied jazz piano from the acclaimed Hank Marr, and formed the jazz group Charged Particles, which toured nationally and internationally for twelve years. During this time, Caleb has appeared in such venues as the Kennedy Center and the Houston International Jazz Festival, and has performed with drummers Dennis Chambers and Peter Erskine, and opened for guitarists Al Di Meola and Stanley Jordan, among others. Caleb’s spirit and technicality bring fun to any genre.

Plus, during the band’s intermission, improv group, The Elder Stagemen, will entertain with short form comedic improv and keep the fun, festive party hopping!
